FunJoyment Groups

Original FunJoyment

    • Weekly ninety minute groups with focus on developing and practicing pro-social interaction skills

    • Participants grouped with similar age individuals

    • Groups meet year round

    • All groups “open-ended”  (Most young people stay in the program for a period of years.  Individuals can join at any time, and enter the group one at a time.  This means the staff are getting to know one individual at a time, and can focus a lot of energy in helping an initial transition.)

    • All staff trained by John Merges, LICSW.  All staff know it is very important to consistently be at their assigned groups so participants can count on the adult leadership.

    • Currently we offer 3 FunJoyment Gaming Groups. All groups meet in downtown Hopkins, MN:

Mondays 4.45-6.15pm (High School Ages Thru Young Adult) (Space Available)

Fridays 4.45-6.15pm (Adult) (Space Available)

FunJoyment Extension Groups

    • Many participants begin in FunJoyment Groups then move to Extension Groups

    • Weekly one hundred twenty minute groups with emphasis on maintaining focus on a task for the entire session

    • Interest based groups

    • Groups meet year round

    • All groups “open-ended”  (Most young people stay in the program for a period of years.  Individuals can join at any time, and enter the group one at a time.  This means the staff are getting to know one individual at a time, and can focus a lot of energy in helping an initial transition.)

    • All staff trained in principles developed by John Merges, LICSW.  All staff know it is very important to consistently be at their assigned groups so participants can count on the adult leadership.

    • Adventure Role Play – 6.30-8.30pm (Theme: Secret Agents) (2 Spaces Available)

Wednesdays

    • Tabletop Miniatures – 4.30-6.15pm (Space Available)

    • Adventure Role Play – 6.45-8.45pm (Ask about theme)(1 Space Available)

Thursdays

    • Game Designers Club – 4.30-6.15pm (Space Available)

    • Role Play 6.30-8.30pm (Theme: Fantasy) (2 Spaces Available)

Fridays

    • Adventure Role Play 6.30-9pm (Theme: SciFi) (2 Spaces Available)



All FunJoyment Group members are able to:
  • Access The Merges Group Private Discord for Connections to all group members and staff
  • Get invites to quarterly out of group gatherings organized by staff and participants
  • Contact a preferred Staff For Support
  • Join optional volunteer activities
